Kids in the Kitchen- Healthy Eating and Fitness Event!

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Please read the letter below.  We need your help! No donation is too small.
Hi friends,

I am currently planning an event called "Kids in the Kitchen" with the Junior League of Los Angeles for  M.E.N.D (Meeting Each Need with Dignity) on April 9, 2011. The goal of the event is to teach low income parents with their children about healthy eating and fitness while being sensitive to their budget. Parents and children from Pacoima and the surrounding areas will explore all that California has to offer as they learn about local and sustainable fruits and vegetables and how to stay fit.

Children will get hands-on lessons from local chefs in making nutricious meals and learn fun facts about food and health. They will also be introduced to fun fitness activities through circuit training and yoga by some of Los Angeles’ top fitness and yoga instructors.

While the children are involved in their activities, parents will be treated to an informative discussion with bi-lingual Registered Dietitians from Children’s Hospital LA. We have exhausted all of our resources and are in need for more donations. We are asking for, Ralph's, Costco, Trader Joes, Target, Wal Mart or any grocery store gift cards. Monetary donations are also always welcome! No donation is too small.
If interested please contact me ASAP.
Thank you so much for your help.
xoxo
